What steps will you take (or have you taken) to ensure LGBTQ+ people who live in, work in, travel to Charlotte are protected against discrimination and included at all levels of decision-making?

As a Proud sponsor of the original Fully Inclusive Non-discrimination Ordinance I have & will continue to fight for equality.

What will you do (or have you done) to address the affordable housing crisis that plagues Charlotte? What plans do you have to ensure Charlotte develops sustainably for future generations?

Previously I helped to create Charlotte's TLCbyCLT home repair program. My goal moving forward is to continue creating opportunities for my neighbors to age in place and access housing that is affordable for them through targeted home purchases that will be managed by local non-profit partners.

What actions do you support (or have you supported) to ensure people have equitable access (including transportation) to jobs that provide a living wage?

Previously I ked the charge to increase the minimum wage for City employees which has seen cost of living increases annually. I also created & hosted the District 3 Job Fair 7 of the 8 years I served in office creating employment opportunities. I plan to re-institute this program along with growing it with local partners.

With racism being declared a public health crisis, what steps do you support (or have you supported) to address the racial inequities that exist in Charlotte? These include but are not limited to environmental racism, overpolicing, and access to healthcare.

Years ago I was the only elected official ready & willing to address police brutality directly along with Voting NO to Charlotte hosting the RNC under previous leadership as our City is not the place for their hate. When re-elected to City Council I will continue to hear from neighbors and address their concerns to create a City for All.

Are there any additional comments or initiatives you'd like to share?

When elected I will continue to speak out on the concerns in our neighborhoods, support Small Business & challenge large tax incentives to corporations that do not put Charlotte's resident needs at the forefront.
